A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document which allows a person who is at least 21 years of age (“donor”), to authorize one or more persons whom you trust to be reliable, competent and capable (“donee(s)”) to make healthcare and/or financial decisions on your behalf in the unfortunate event if you should lose your mental capacity.

STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE TO BOOK POA
Donor(s) need to come to our office to sign the POA. Please book appointment by online system below AND check junk folder if you do not receive email confirmation
We operate strictly by online appointment only. Please do not walk-in
Come to our office and bring NRIC only of the Donor(s) (the persons going overseas).
You do NOT need to bring the NRIC's of the Attorney (the person helping you sign the documents when you are away) but you need their name, NRIC No. and NRIC address.
Co-owners who are going overseas must come and sign too. CO-owners who are NOT going overseas do not have to come. You CAN appoint a co-owner / spouse as Attorney.
We will prepare the POA in front of you which takes 20 minutes. Check the POA for mistakes. If there are no mistakes, the lawyer will paste the read seal and stamp his "Advocate & Solicitor" stamp on the signing page(s) after which the Donors sign.
The lawyer will scan the POA and upload to the High Court website. He will pass you the original for you to keep.
The POA will be approved by the High Court within 10 working days which will be in PDF format. The donor does not need to be in Singapore during this time.
We will email you the PDF approved POA and print out two hard copies which will be certified true copy and will be posted to your Attorney.
For HDB POA, we will prepare a letter to HDB confirming we used their standard format - this will be emailed to you.
